Description
Some symbols do not need to raise their voice. The Wołyń 1943 pin badge is a discreet symbol of remembrance of the tragic events in Volhynia and of their victims — a stylised blue flower with a white centre and silver outlines forming a calm, elegant composition, with the inscription at the bottom underlining the commemorative character of the design. Volhynia (Wołyń) is a historic region of the old Polish borderlands, and 1943 is a date Poles carry with them; this little flower carries it too. The badge is made of metal and decorated with colourful enamel, and a pin with a metal butterfly clutch lets you wear it on a jacket, coat, bag or backpack, or keep it in a collection of souvenirs. A small but legible sign of memory, respect and attachment to history.
