Description
The Żuraw — the great timber Crane on the Motława — once hoisted cargo and ships' masts and was the largest port crane in medieval Europe; today it lifts nothing heavier than this thimble. The metal thimble shows the Crane in relief, while the other side carries the word „Polska” together with the eagle. The bold motif gives the piece a decorative, keepsake character.
